Some answers to your questions

What issues do you work with?

I support adults experiencing trauma and complex trauma (C-PTSD), anxiety, burnout, phobias, attachment wounds, life transitions and longstanding relational patterns.

I have a particular interest in working with helpers, frontline professionals and those navigating identity shifts or post-career transitions.

What approaches do you use in therapy?

My work integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, trauma-informed psychotherapy and somatically aware practices.

Sessions are collaborative and tailored to you. We move at a pace that prioritises nervous system safety while engaging meaningful and lasting change.

What happens in the fifteen-minute introductory session?

The complimentary fifteen-minute session is a brief conversation to explore what brings you here and whether working together feels like a good fit.

You can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. We may discuss your current concerns, answer practical questions and outline possible next steps.

There is no obligation — it is simply an opportunity to clarify whether this feels like the right therapeutic partnership for you.

What is EMDR and how does it work?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a structured therapy that encourages the patient to briefly focus on the trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements, but can also be taps or tones). This process is associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotion associated with trauma memories.

It is an evidence-based approach that helps the brain reprocess unresolved distressing memories, allowing them to be stored in a more functional, 'digested' way. This reduces the emotional charge and physical distress that often accompanies trauma triggers.

What is Internal Family Systems (IFS)?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a transformative tool that conceives of every human being as a system of protective and wounded inner parts led by a core Self. We often experience these parts as 'voices' or conflicting urges—the part that wants to work harder, the part that feels like a failure, or the part that wants to shut down.

In therapy, we work to understand the roles these parts play and what they are trying to protect. By approaching our internal world with curiosity and compassion, we can heal wounded parts and restore the core Self to a position of leadership, leading to greater inner harmony and emotional balance.

Why is PACFA accreditation important?

PACFA (Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia) is the leading peak body for the counselling and psychotherapy profession in Australia. Practitioners who are PACFA-accredited meet high standards of education, professional experience, and ongoing clinical supervision.

Working with a PACFA-accredited therapist ensures that your practitioner is bound by a strict ethical code, participates in regular professional development, and maintains high-quality clinical standards, providing you with a safe and professional therapeutic environment.
